This year’s prestigious Homes and Gardens Design Awards crowned a stunning bathroom as the winner of the Dream Bathroom category, with its breathtaking design led by Henry Prideaux Interior Design. One of the elements of this award-winning space is the use of Ecohardwood oak herringbone parquet flooring in the shade Extra White, which plays an important role in creating the elegant, tranquil atmosphere of the bathroom. This is more than just a functional space; it’s an experience, a retreat, and a reflection of the owner’s style and personality.

The vanity view of this award-winning Dream Bathroom is a marvel, drawing attention to the room’s clever use of mirrors to enhance natural light flow. Contrary to first impressions, what appears to be three separate photos is a seamless perspective from the adjoining dressing room, showcasing side mirrors that reflect and amplify the light, making the space feel larger and brighter.
Another key feature of this design is the Ecohardwood oak herringbone parquet in the Extra White colour. This choice of wood flooring brings elegance to the bathroom and adds warmth and texture to the space. The natural wood finish contrasts beautifully with the cool tones of the bathroom’s mint green cabinetry, artwork, and marble accents, creating a fresh yet sophisticated balance.
The dressing room, which is part of the Dream Bathroom suite, is equally impressive. It acts as a transitional space between the bathroom and bedroom, providing much-needed storage in a practical and beautiful manner. This space also reflects the attention to detail seen throughout the entire project. The curtains, trimmed in a striking ikat fabric, add a layer of sophistication to the room. The ikat fabric is repeated in the glazed door panels, subtly drawing the eye and tying the design elements together, all while complementing the soft mint green colour of the joinery.
The entire suite is a brilliant showcase of Prideaux’s ability to harmoniously blend different textures and patterns. The flooring’s pale oak hue, the vibrant ikat curtain details, and the gentle, calming mint cabinetry all come together to create a cohesive space that feels fresh and serene. Every detail, down to the eco-friendly Ecohardwood herringbone parquet, has been carefully considered to enhance the space's form and function.
Henry Prideaux and Amy Paice, who together formed Henry Prideaux Interior Design, bring a wealth of experience to their projects. Their passion for beautiful, livable and also functional and practical spaces is evident in every aspect of the design, from the parquet flooring that ties everything together to the bespoke joinery and textiles that add character and warmth.
