We were honoured to contribute to the exceptional Sudbrook project, supplying our wood flooring in Waterfall colour, beautifully laid in a Chevron pattern. This remarkable project, spearheaded by Blakes, a leader in bespoke kitchen and bathroom joinery, has been awarded the prestigious Living Etc Award for Best Bespoke Joinery - a well-deserved recognition of their craftsmanship and design excellence.

The Sudbrook Project: A Multifunctional Entertainment Haven

The Sudbrook project revolved around transforming a large, open-plan basement into a versatile, multi-use entertainment space for a family of growing teenagers and their parents. The space needed to cater to the dynamic needs of the household, with areas for gaming and table tennis while still providing an elegant, sophisticated setting for the adults to entertain in style.
Blakes delivered a stunning solution, creating a space that combines luxury with functionality. The basement, painted in Fired Earth’s Tempest - a rich, deep blue - exudes a moody, elegant atmosphere reminiscent of a 1920s prohibition bar. This striking design choice provided a perfect backdrop for our Waterfall oak flooring, which brought warmth and sophistication to the room with its subtle tones and exquisite Chevron pattern. The natural beauty of the oak complements the bold colour palette, adding texture and a timeless appeal to the overall design.

This multifunctional space is as practical as it is elegant, and the bar area has become a cherished retreat for the family. The marble countertops have proven to be robust, as evidenced during a memorable evening when guests reenacted a scene from Coyote Ugly, dancing on the counters and creating lasting memories in this vibrant space.

Blakes installed a climate-controlled wine storage room just across the corridor to complete the basement transformation. This room features a glazed spy window that looks into the living space, allowing natural light to filter through and keeping the wine room feeling open and inviting.
