Wood flooring in Extra White colour
Sun and wind. Sailboats and kitesurfers. Dunes and meadows alive with swaying grasses and blooming wildflowers. This home’s soft, simple, and clean interior is designed as a tranquil holiday retreat for its owner, an avid kitesurfer, to unwind with family and friends. The striking architecture and interior design have garnered attention, featured by Dezeen, one of the world’s leading architecture and design magazines.
Nestled by the sea and dunes, this retreat invites you to step inside and immediately experience the calm of a perfect getaway. Designed by Archispektras, the house is a blend of contextual sensitivity and sculptural beauty.
Extra White oak floors beautifully enhance the space, with their light, natural tones adding to the clean, minimalist aesthetic. The flooring is also eco-friendly and sustainable, harmonizing with nature.
Inspired by local traditions, the home’s sharp, elongated thatched roof integrates with the landscape, its graceful, flowing lines blending with the natural surroundings.
Archispektras design team aimed to create a serene sanctuary for a kitesurfing family, offering the ideal space to relax after a day of adventure. Each room is designed to capture sweeping views of the sea and the endless horizon. The open-concept living area combines the kitchen, dining, and lounge spaces in a fluid, cohesive layout. High ceilings and skylights flood the space with natural light, creating a sense of openness and airiness. The warm oak wood flooring tones and natural materials throughout the interior create a feeling of simplicity, comfort, and serenity.
This exceptional project was also nominated for the prestigious EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture - the Mies van der Rohe Award.
